Chapter 6 - Murder, Mayhem and the McGraths
'In 1862 the first occurrence on the surviving public record of the arrest of members of Honora McGrath’s family is found with Mick McGrath leading the way. Over the next decade the family would set about living up to the reputation attributed to those from their native County of Tipperary in Ireland as being nothing more than thieves and murderers. Mick was first arrested, along with Michael Delany, at Kerrs Creek, between Wellington and Orange, on a charge of stealing fifteen shillings from Hugh Dogherty on the 6th of February.' (pp.57-58)
