Michael Hundy
1853-1895

Chapter 11 - MIchael Hundy
'At the age of forty, and still a bachelor, Mick was back home at Campbells Creek during the autumn of 1895. He was riding a young thoroughbred horse, perhaps helping to break it in, or maybe even indulging a passion for racing horses. Whatever the case, the Dubbo Liberal of the 22nd of May 1895 reports Mick had fallen from a racehorse on the 16th and was taken to Mudgee Hospital where he died. In falling from the horse he’d fractured the base of his skull and suffered a cerebral haemorrhage. Despite being attended to by Dr Nickoll on the 18th of May, Mick passed away in the old Mudgee Hospital three days after his accident on the 19th of May 1895'.
