Elizabeth (Maultby) Hundy
1847-1915
'Elizabeth ultimately lived most of her adult life along the Murray River in Victoria at Echuca and Yarrawonga where she held a high profile among her community and became known as a kind and charitable lady, ‘always ready to assist those in distress’.2 Elizabeth’s beginnings as the daughter of a convict in rural NSW, though, are far removed from the life of affluence and privilege she ultimately enjoyed as a woman of considerable means in Victoria'.
